sector, Lynn Bedell brings many years of solid experience to her role
as Executive Director. Her philosophy fits that of The Gathering Place:
she has a strong sense of team and encourages all staff and participants
alike to reach their fullest potential.

Heather Cutler, CTRS
Activities Coordinator

As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Heather Cutler infuses our activities program with a high degree of professionalism and attention to long-term goals. With years of experience working with seniors, she has a wealth of knowledge and resources, adding to them her own sense of creativity. Heather encourages— never demands— participants to reach their maximum potential, physically and cognitively. Heather not only coordinates a wonderfully varied and stimulating activities schedule, she organizes fun and interesting field trips and excursions as well.

Shawna Dykes, LNA
Nursing Assistant

Shawna Dykes, a licensed LNA, enhances The Gathering Place staff with both her years of nursing experience and her passion for working with seniors and adults with disabilities. Shawna coordinates all of the therapies at TGP and helps program participants with their daily exercise thus playing a key role in the achievement of their personal goals and maintenance of their maximum levels of physical fitness. |

| Michelle
Grist-Weiner provides The Gathering Place participants with full-time
nursing care. Michelle has extensive nursing and social work
background and a genuine passion for the issues that affect elders
and people with disabilities. In her role as Adult Day Nurse, Michelle
monitors the health and well-being of all who attend, performs routine
health checks, as well as tests specific to particular diseases. She
counsels on diet and nutrition and helps participants and their caregivers
obtain other services they may need. Michelle also facilitates a monthly
caregivers’ support group that meets at The Gathering Place
on the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm. |

David Hildreth
Activities Assistant |
David Hildreth first joined The Gathering Place as a volunteer, helping with activities and delivering meals. In 2004, he became an On-Call Program Substitue and his exuberant, caring attitude very quickly became a welcome addition to TGP's staff. David then joined the regular team as an Activities Assistant, a position that allows him to call upon his wide-ranging skills and talents.

Nancy
Mahew uses her energy and enthusiasm in all that she does at The Gathering
Place. Whether it’s making certain that our food prep and service
areas are in tip-top shape or assisting with an activity, you can
count on Nancy to put in the extra effort to make certain things are
done properly. |

Linda Shanko's many years of nursing experience, plus her skills in baking and fine arts, make her a multi-talented, welcome addition to our staff. Linda works closely with Shawna, coordinating therapy sessions and helping program participants with their daily exercise routines. Linda is a valuable right-hand to our RN and loves to join in activities as well. |

Carolyn
Stoughton brings a rich assortment of talents to
The Gathering Place.
Although her degree is in gerontology, she has also been trained in nursing
and volunteer management. Carolyn coordinates the large number of
volunteers that TGP is fortunate to have. In so doing, she has developed
a full program of events and entertainments, plus a roster of volunteers
to help accomplish everyday tasks. |
